Feature Cat: Heidi

Little Ashly (now known as Heidi) was a stray doomed to live on the streets with the odds against her....

Paws volunteer Scott rescued Heidi from the street and brought her into his home as a foster kitten until we could get her vet care and put up for adoption.

A lovely couple was in search of a cat such as Heidi (russian blue history) and so a match made in heaven was in the works.

As you can see here from the lovely email, Heidi has a great family and new best friend.

Hi, Marilyn --
I have attached 3 photos.  Two are pictures of Heidi (formerly named Ashly).  We adopted Heidi last Saturday, a bouncing Russian Blue with boundless energy.  She and Benson (our 2 year old Russian Blue) are doing extremely well together.  Heidi went to Duncan Manor Animal Hospital on Tuesday and is in good health.  The vet there also said that she is about 4 to 5 months old.  We will have her neutered in January.  I cannot say enough about this kitten's playful, affectionate, loving nature.  She is a joy to have in our home.  Benson has done very well since his initial hissy fit!  We introduced them slowly, allowing Benson to take a look at Heidi in her carrier and hiss all he wanted to.  We then let them in the same area to get to know one another.  It was touch and go at first but they are now playful together.  In fact, Heidi pesters Benson to play quite a bit of the time.  Benson finds a hiding place to get away from her sometimes.  Benson is older and needs his alone-time!
Thank you so much for calling us and being patient while we were away in Hawaii.  We are fortunate that Heidi stuck around to be adopted by us.
We will keep in touch!

Heidi just chilly and hanging out with her new friend, Benson!
